An ancient laboratory at the service of the community
In the heart of the historic center, the Bottega del Fabbro represents a precious testimony of the artisan life of Armungia. Opened in 1928 by Giuseppe Vellini , a blacksmith, it was carried on for decades by his son Albino, becoming a point of reference for the entire rural community. The workshop was created by adapting an old house to productive uses, transformed to meet the needs of the new activity. The central room housed the main tools: the forge powered by a bellows , the anvil and the workbench , fundamental elements for the creation and repair of iron agricultural tools and for shoeing draft animals .

Functional spaces and centrality in the urban fabric
Next to the main room, the workshop was divided into rooms with specific functions: the portico housed the frame for shoeing oxen , the courtyard was dedicated to complementary activities such as sharpening tools on stone wheels, while the warehouse stored supplies of iron and coal , essential for daily work. The position of the building, strategically inserted into the town's road system, responded to the needs of the farming community: the blacksmith was in fact a key figure, especially in the crucial moments of the agricultural season.
An experience between memory and tradition
Today, the Bottega del Fabbro has been restored in keeping with its original form and is part of a tour that starts from the Ethnographic Museum Sa Domu de is Ainas and winds through the alleys of the historic center. Entering it means taking a journey through time, among tools, materials and gestures of a trade that for decades has supported the life and economy of the country.
