An ancient laboratory at the service of the community In the heart of the historic center, the Bottega del Fabbro ( Blacksmith's Workshop) represents a precious testimony to Armungia's artisanal life. Opened in 1928 by Giuseppe Vellini , a blacksmith and farrier, it was continued for decades by his son Albino, becoming a point of reference for the entire rural community. The workshop was created by adapting an old house for production purposes, transformed to meet the needs of the new business. The central room housed the main tools: the forge powered by bellows , the anvil , and the workbench , essential elements for the creation and repair of iron agricultural tools and for shoeing draft animals .

Functional spaces and centrality in the urban fabric
Alongside the main building, the workshop was divided into rooms with specific functions: the portico housed the frame for shoeing oxen , the courtyard was dedicated to complementary activities such as sharpening tools on stone wheels, while the warehouse stored supplies of iron and coal , essential for daily work. The building's strategic location along the village's road network responded to the needs of the farming community: the blacksmith was, in fact, a key figure, especially during crucial moments of the agricultural season.
An experience between memory and tradition
Today, the Blacksmith's Workshop has been restored to its original state and is part of a tour that begins at the Sa Domu de is Ainas Ethnographic Museum and winds through the alleys of the historic center. Entering the Blacksmith's Workshop is like taking a journey through time, exploring the tools, materials, and gestures of a craft that for decades has sustained the life and economy of the town.
